Who is eligible for liquor liability insurance through Hospitality Insurance Group?

Hospitality Insurance Group’s liquor liability insurance is available for owners of taverns, hotels, restaurants, social clubs and package stores, and for caterers and other businesses that sell or serve alcoholic beverages. ^TOP

What does a liquor liability policy from Hospitality Insurance Group cover?

Hospitality Insurance Group provides comprehensive coverage of up to $1 million per person/$1 million per occurrence/$2 million aggregate, with no deductibles and unlimited reimbursement for attorney’s fees. ^TOP

Does Hospitality Insurance Group provide other coverage? 

Hospitality Insurance Group now offers commercial property and general liability coverage with limits of up to $1 million per occurrence/$2 million aggregate and excess coverage with limits of up to $3 million. Insureds who purchase package policies or CGL coverage along with liquor liability insurance receive additional discounts on their premiums. Licensees must purchase both liquor liability and CGL coverage from Hospitality Insurance Group to be eligible for excess coverage. Together, they can provide coverage of up to $4 million.

In addition, Hospitality Insurance Group provides two endorsements that can be added to the liquor liability policy:

Assault and battery coverage for both liquor and non liquor-related incidents. This endorsement covers damages caused by assaults that take place on the premises. This coverage is usually excluded from most CGL policies.

Expanded property damage. This endorsement covers damage to the premises or to private property. ^TOP

How can my clients qualify for a discount on their liquor liability insurance?

A 10% discount is available for establishments that close by 8 p.m. every day.

A 20% discount is available for establishments that are members of their state restaurant association.* 

A 10% discount is available for insureds if 100% of managers and 75% of servers participate in an approved alcohol-awareness training program. For a list of approved programs, click here.

A 50% discount on the assault-and-battery endorsement is available for insureds if 100% of managers and 75% of non-management staff participate in an approved security training program. For a list of approved programs, click here.

To encourage clients of Hospitality Insurance Group to identify fake IDs effectively, Hospitality Insurance Group is offering a rate discount based on the insured’s premium size for those clients who are willing to invest in approved age verification scanners.
