Following an extensive national search, Hospitality Insurance Group has named Michael He as the company’s third president and chief executive officer, succeeding Richard E. Welch, Jr.
Michael brings two decades of operating and advisory experience in the insurance industry, specializing in underwriting performance, distribution strategy, and operational efficiency in complex, highly regulated markets.
Throughout his career, Michael has held leadership roles at Allstate, Travelers Insurance, Liberty Mutual, EverQuote, and Boston Consulting Group, where he has led and advised organizations on distribution strategy, sales effectiveness, and operational improvement.
Michael holds an MBA in Corporate Finance and Accounting, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science and Economics, from the University of Rochester.
As President and CEO, Michael will lead Hospitality Insurance Group through its next phase of growth, focused on strengthening underwriting performance, supporting disciplined growth, and continuing long-term performance. As one of the leading insurance providers for restaurants, bars, social clubs, package stores, and related businesses in the Eastern U.S., Hospitality plans to build on its specialty hospitality focus, pursue disciplined expansion in selected states and adjacent hospitality segments, and continue delivering education and risk management support for loss prevention, loss mitigation, and alcohol awareness.
